It's been a couple days since I've seen my Green Star Poylps out. They just suddenly stopped coming out. My Nitrite, Nitrate and Ammonia is fine, though my pH is a little low. Any ideas or do they just do this for no reason?

I was the starter of Perky Polyps my Green Stars are not. Lots of people had lots of good suggestions. In the end, I put them into quicker flow, which cleaned them off (as Tangster suggested) and gave them an environment they liked. Kind of a two-fer one.

Get out your toothbrush or turkey baster. Mine only go into hybernation when they've got debri on them.

They can't grow if they can't eat.

I blew mine off with a small power head, they are much happier now.

Turkey basters and power heads will not remove the Bio jelly as well as a old toothbrush then after the cleaning off then increase their water flow. I mounted mine on a Vertical wall so they never have anything to settle on them.. I have about 20 sq inches now on a overflow now that took less then a yr from a little plug I'd never put them up on a rock Make controlling them a bit more difficult as they will over run a tank.

I cleaned them off with a turkey baster and they came out this morning. I'm going to move them to a different spot like Tangster said.

    Thanks guys.

Could say, a paintbrush be substituted for an old toothbrush? I dont have an OLD toothbrush laying around. I am guessing it should be old for the soft bristles, which a paintbrush may also have?
