Anyone heard of this? Thinking of putting it on a 40 breeder (soon to be reef) I guess with all filter media removed theirs a pretty good amount of space in the filtration chamber. If you threw a light on top couldn't you keep some cheato and rock inside? What do you think?

It can work, not a bad idea if you don't have a sump.

I have had one on my nano for years, they work well. It is the old AC 500 which is now called the AC110. I shaved the impeller down vertically rather than trimming the ends off and I believe it stays balanced better that way. It started out on my 20H reef then to a 18G Via Aqua system that eventually broke and its now on my 16G bowfront. The large body gives plenty of room for macros or whatever you decide to stock in it.
