    Alright guys here are my plans for my upcoming refugium project. This is for my 29 Gallon BioCube. I will start my build on 2/5/12

    Any tips please feel free to chime in, thanks.

    Syncra 2.0 Aquarium Pump
    4" Micron Bag
    Ocean Direct Pacific Black Live Sand 10lb
    Egg Crate
    Caribbean Refugium Algae Pack

    Why pay the money for live sand when you're tank is already set up? I'd also look into miracle mud! I've talked to a ton of people that swear by it! Check out Matt rogers last thread about it and what they do with it!

    Well I was going to do that but iv read a lot of places that say a DSB is just as good.

    Im thinking about lowering the DSB to allow more growth for the macroalgae

    To each their own brother! your sump! Why not just base dry sand though? it'll get seeded quicke enough! I've heard a bit of both though! just my freinds swear by this miracle mud! It seems to be treating me well!IMO

    But how much compared to local! Hey, i followed your build on the led's! Ya gotta sweet set up kicking, not knocking anything! IMO, i think sump, i think save cash! but i do love black sand!
    your gonna have the mercedes benz of cubes!;)

    Thanks man! The LEDs are amazing and the tank LOVES it!!! I was going to do a sump (Eshopps 75) but as you could see the stand is a little crowded so the 5 gallon is my only option. I will have the skimmer (9002 Tunze) and heater in the back chambers.

    So mud aside how deep should the sand be with the macro pack I ordered?
