ACLS (Advanced Control Lighting System from SFILIGOI): an electronic starter which can reproduce the sunset-sunrise effect only by using HQI lamps (ACLS allows gradual lighting up and darkening from 0 to 100% and vice versa of the lighting!) Wow, 3reef was late to the party on this one. COOL. 8)

Advanced Control Lighting System from SFILIGOI Lighting

During the sunrise-sunset phases the dimmer reduces the power the lamp absorbs and consequently grants high energy savings in comparison with common ferromagnetic reactors with a 92% rent.

The electronic dimmer keeps the light flow extremely stable to avoid flickering problems of exhausted lights (250 Hz using squared wave). You have the possibility to use also lamps almost exhausted with a fairly good light flow (the bulb duration increases of 30-40%). Further, after the tension falls, ACLS allows turning on of the lamp reducing the time by 50% in comparison with common ferromagnetic reactor.

Special dip-switches control the duration of the sunrise-sunset effect which can be personalized the duration of the maximum lighting flow (“midday”) the moonlight latitude longitude cloudy days reduction of the lighting flow reduction of the lamp power standard timer for HQI lamps (output relay) timer for actinic tubes (output relay) timer for moon phases lamp (using a suitable bulb) the watch/datary-timer into the ACLS (day/month/time)

I've seen a couple up here. They are top notch. But carry a hefty price tag

I am not surprised just looking at the control system.
I am surprised that you don't have one however J. :)

I'm waiting for it to come up as a 3Reef prizes.

One guy up here was selling one used for $1500.00. That's about $800 more then I spent on my entire light set up :)

LED's are another thing for another thread Phoenix.
This is about a dimmable Halide setup which is a big deal.

So, Jason et al, can you describe what you saw of this setup?

The one I saw was being controlled with a Proflux. It was very sweet. The Profux also have the storm function with the light sticks. I watched as the MH dimmed down to almost off then the lightning started and then back up to full power. It was amazing.
I hear KZ is also working on a dimmable ballast for MH.

I wonder if it will shorten bulb life, and i wonder what the ballast and bulb manufacturers think about it?
