zoos but no coraline?

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    I usually see the development of coralline around the 3 month mark. As long as the ca and alk are in line it will grow and then you will wish it would stop growing.:)

    Mine just started & I'm a little over the 3 month mark & keep calcium & alk at correct levels.

    one way to encourage coraline is as follows

    Coraline seems to prefer plastic to rock and as such initial coraline is often found on plastic pipework, acrylic panels of the tank, the heater bracket etc

    when you see this developing, scrape it and allow the scrapings to drift about the tank
    they will settle on rockwork and develop from there

    but +1 on making sure your big 3 (calcium alkalinity and Magnesium) are within normal reef tank parameters

    I forgot to mention that I did use a stiff (tank only) toothbrush to brush the crap out of a couple of coralline covered rocks about a month ago. It probably also helped that the emeralds were pinching some off the rocks, too.
