Zoa growth question

    it depends on the actual zoas. Some of them grow a lot faster than others. In general, the more expensive the zoa the slower the growth rate. Tubbs blue, tubbs red bam bams etc=very slow growth rate. Sunny D's=have had the same 1 polyp for 1 whole year now (bought it at MACNA LAST YEAR). Just seeing a baby pop up.

    Eagle eyes, green polyps, brown polyps etc grow like weeds!

    For me, they grow slow until about 20 polyp colony and then they take off. The best advice is get them in a place in your tank that they will open up completly and stay open during your photoperiod and then don't touch them. They will grow over the frag plug, they will grow on returns, frag racks basically any solid surface. My tuxedo urchin carries them around like some kind of a prize and they grow on his back! Also since switching to LED's over T-5's and MH I noticed the growth is a little bit slower,but, they look amazing under the blue led's!
