The cycle in time will go away on its own (at least in my experience). A black out phase I don't think you should do as your tank is cycling. A year from now if you get a bloom then that's a different story. Wait for someone else to chime in either way though.

well I am not one to reject advice so ill keep the lights on and hope for the best. with better circulation and the skimmer I am sure things will improve. yes they definitely are nice toys the apex and vortech were on my wish list. The Aquamax got a lot of good reviews on marine depot so I decide to pull the trigger on it.

Hope I won't get in trouble for hijacking my own thread. But I decided to change plans and improve on an existing tank I started on. Presenting for your enjoyment the 20 long. Current resident a royal gramma.

for one lack of room around the tank its very tight and hard to work around, where as the 20 long I have plenty of room to work around, another my wife wants me to keep it simple this is in the bedroom the less equipment around it the better.

Twenty longs are nice and it's already for corals now.

Oh she was up for it but the apex controller wasn't cooperating with my router even with an adapter where in the other room it's 4 feet away it just seemed like a more feasible idea.
