for my lps/softie tank I give them about 10 hrs actinic and 8 hours daylight every day.
A timer for your lights is about the best cheap piece of equipment you can invest in!!! That little feller never forgets!!!:victory:

    Mostly LPS and Mushrooms.

I have tried all different times but I felt like I got the most coral growth when my tank lights were on 12 hours a day... but then I thought that might be too much time for the fish?? when I had it set to 8 hours I didnt get any growth on my candy canes or toadstool?

My LPS DT is 14 hours on per day lol. No separation between actinics and daylight bulbs.

I don't have a fuge, but have always read the light cycle for that should be opposite your DT lights (i.e. light the fuge at night) so the tank could "breath". I'm not arguing the point, but bringing it up since I see a few folks have the fuge on 24/7... For those, have you tried both ways and get better results with 24/7 or do you just use 24/7 and haven't looked back?

I think that when using caulerpa, it's considered a decent idea to run 24/7, so it may be them using caulerpa.
