I would not say that is usually true.

My copperband never even looked at my 4 clams. They will eat a dead clam, but typically won't go after healthy ones.

Copperbands have never even touched clams in any of the 3 tanks i know of that have had clams and CBB's in them. I would say acans are more in danger from what i have seen, and even that is less of an occurrence than them eating what they are supposed to eat.

you can get a goby.. like a dragon goby perhaps? not only do they look cool IMO but they are super active and will have your sand sparkle of how clean it will be.

firefish are cool, maybe a helfritch? firefish. or a red firefish. purples are cool looking too.

um.. so far im loving my flame and potters angel so thats another idea. maybe a small school of chromis? 3-5 maybe?

i know you dont want clownfish but how about a rare species like the naked clown? or some weird version of it.

    bicolor blenny? hawk fish?
........... ill be back with more..

fwiw, a naked clown is simply a color morph of a normal clown, and not a separate species.
