YES i finally got MH lights

    HL14 I believe that there is a breaking in period for the bulbs so maybe after it is on for a while it will get whiter in color. If you want to you can run just the new one for the same amount of time as you did the 1st one and that way they may even out in color :-/ Just a thought ...... John

    yeah but there supposed to be blue there 20K bulbs. Won't they eventually be the same color. how long is the break in period.

    I think break in period for MH bulbs is 100 hours.

    but won't they eventually become the same color after they both reach the 100 hr mark. There supposed to be blue why is one whiter than the other. do they change color too during the break in period.

    Yes they change colour during the break in. That is why we call it a break in. The final colour temp and the stable colour temp is achieved after 100 hrs. and should be the colour temp you bought 10000K. Now Cheap bulbs will vary wildly from 10000K but even the cheapo lamps stabilize.

    ok thanks a lot jason, they were worrying me because i had ordered 20K not 10K

    Oh, I think the higher the K the funkyer the break in. Not fact but what I've seen. My 14K HQIs were crazy during break in. It freaked me out to.
