Wow. Maxspect Mazarra Modular LEDs announced for preorder.

I really like the mount design and control panel, very sleek.

 

Well depth should have good coverage if it's using XML's those are very powerful hitting 280 lm at 700 ma and the spec says it's running those at 1500 ma so each light would have a out 600 lms which should give them depth. But I have also read if you look at an XML at 100% power that it can do serious eye damage so as to not be messing around with those chips.

Well wait til these come out first. The previous maxspects g2 extreme was a good light. It did not outperform the AI however. Now this version is using a new approach by using bridgelux, luxeon, and Cree. It sounds promising and the look, mount and angling of the light looks good. The controller too

 

yup 3 would do very well 2 would work for lps

 

You cannot go wrong with AI's plain and simple. for every 100 ai's that leave our warehouse 1 or 2 other brands. No complaints

 

however given time we may see maxspect on that playing field

I've seen two AIs hung high and light up a 60"L tank pretty well before, and I've been told that two AIs could support a 48"L mixed reef which is what I was planning. It doesn't seem like the Mazarra can do this? Are there PAR charts avilable?
