Would these lights be better than my 4 power compacts

    I just bought these for my 30 long frag tank. they are really nice. I was surprised to find that it even has a really nice reflector on it. Not individual but a dual one. The only drawback is it only has a single cord. but you cant beat the price or the shipping right now!

    I also have 1 of their 30 MH / PC combos which works very well.

    Man every one has to start some where! You had a 4 at one time just like I did.

    But I do agree about the picture, not a good way to sell a used Item, need to show what your buying.

    gazog do you have a pic of it. what does it look like. and do you think I should use it in combination of one of my PC fixtures.

    Yes that exactly what it is a retro for a hooddo you have a full hood ?If so there may another option for you ? But 200.00 for a set of lights is not going to buy you much for a 75 gal .

    I do not have a hood :-[ I just have the glass top.

    You would be wise to toss the glass tops out and off of the tank..

    You could use eggcrate instead of the glass tops. Keeps things in (or out) and allows the tank to breathe. Home Depot sells it for around $10. Something like 3 feet by 2 feet (or maybe 4x2). It's in their lighting section.
