My 65g dimensions are 36x18x24--would a 4 bulb fixture be enough? Or would I have to go to 6 bulbs? I'm not planning on keeping any SPS or difficult corals. Zoos, mushrooms, maybe some LPs. Thanks.

It should be more than sufficient for your planned needs. It will allow you to keep SPS also.

If you hang it center you'll have 6" on each side of low light area. Depending on how high you hang it, if you hang it. How were you planning to mount it?

I wish I could say I thought that far ahead--but, most likely I would use some sort of mounting braces on the side.

Also, with a center brace on the tank, I'm assuming I'll get some sort of shadow?

There will be a small shadow from the brace. Make sure you put less light needy corals under the brace.

...and less light needy corals on the ends.

Agreed, even with 36" bulbs the ends don't get as much light.

Thanks much for the advice--I will shop around a bit, but the AquaticLife seems like a nice fixture.
