Any LFS I have been to has fish in coral tanks that are not listed for sale. This should tell you how beneficial they are :)

I would definitely keep a fish or 2. They're only going to help, as some people have already stated.

    lol. +1.

While a limited number of fish is a great idea for a low bio-load, a small number of fish depending on the size of the tank would be OK and may actually benefit you in the long run. Corals do consume a finite amounts of waste, but too much can be bad as well.

The ocean has a lot of fish, sure. But this number is largely dwarfed by the mass of water which exists there as well. Our tanks are a drop in the bucket compared to an ocean. In fact, it's overall bio-load relative to it, is actually quite small.

Steven, I would not do more than 3 fish in your 29g tank to keep your NO3/PO4 in line.

But if you do choose to go fishless, this is good advice, below.

Quite the opposite. More fish means better reef

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I agree with Dingo for the most part. Sps dominate tanks seem to have increased color and PE in the presence of fish.
