Ok so this is what is next to my mushrooms.
Here is what I know (or think I know)
    1) blow water on it - it moves back into the tube.
    2) I believe when I do this then the thread/web gets cast.
    3) It seems to get this thread (web like crap everywhere)
    4) It is in a spiral type housing and seems ribbed (like sea shell)
    5) I know of one, and there seems to be another behind it.

The two boxes in the pic are the actual thing that is alive
The arrow is a pointer to the thread web like.

after research it may be a vermetid snail.
If it is and they are pests - how would I remove them?

I was told about those snails that they would be fine, but may irritate my coral, I have a few on one of my acans... But they havent seemed to bother it as of lately.

Not 100% sure but I would wait for someone else to chime in.

If it is causing problems you can remove them by crushing them. I just removed about 10 of them like yours. There are others of the same genus that are about the diameter of a pencil lead. Those I left alone because they don't produce as much mucus. They trap food in the mucus and then reel it back in and feed.

I had two vermitid snails. They were both on coral frag plugs and started producing thick mucus. Got tired of it so I plugged their holes with reef epoxy. Haven't seen them since.

    Thanks all.
I'm going to crush them, they seem to annoy the mushrooms.
