If we are just talking monthly, here's what I do:
    - Replace filter media
    - Clean power heads and return pump
    - 25% - 30% water change (water changes every other week - will be adjusting this to every week for a bit because of some algae problems. I do larger changes monthly)
    - Inspect pumps, overflow, connections etc. for any potential issues
    - Clean skimmer

Some great ones all! Keep them coming...

    Here is mine:

    Weekly
    • Clean glass a couple times
    • Empty skimmer and clean it
    • Top off ATO reservoir

    Monthly
    • I try to do two water changes. Often it is only one.
    • Check supplement bottles for doser and top off if needed.
    • 1 or 2 water tests for alk, mag and calcium, adjust doser if needed
    • Prune chaeto

Side note - I should clarify that 'monthly routine' meant in my mind what routines you performed in a month's time. Not just once a month. But either is fine.

Indeed. And I have been hounding them about it as I have a mac at home. I think they are working on it, but from what I know about you, you'd be just the man to help them with this. :)

    Keep them coming all!

Wow. There are some great maintenance schedules being posted. It’s wonderful to see people so involved with their aquariums. In the beginning (many years ago) I tried a “natural, less maintenance” approach. That didn’t work very well and replacing livestock became expensive. Consistently sticking to a schedule will give your livestock the pristine environment they need to survive and reproduce. I also found that keen observation plays a vital part in tank maintenance. Spotting something (i.e. small leak) before it becomes a problem keeps you ahead of the game. I would love to see pictures of your tanks, I bet they are beautiful.
A big thanks to everyone who has posted so far. I’m impressed.
And Biocube, I get told we need a Mac version almost every day. We need to start moving ahead with that. Your maintenance schedule is a great one. Thanks for posting and sharing with others.

    Thanks Don,

I'm looking forward to seeing a Mac version in the near future.

Another cool idea would be a iPhone app that would use iCloud and sync the user data back to the users computer for further viewing.

    Wow. Cool idea there.

Hey - I'm going to be running around at work for a bit - so anyone else want to hop in here before I pull the trigger on winners? :)
