why do anemone split?

    Just checking, you did see the last post date on this thread, right?

    And, while we're here, I wish either of my RBTA, my GRTA, or my Maxi-Mini Carpet anen. WOULD split!
    I feed at least once a week, and water params stay pretty well- my sps are doing great, as are my lps and softs.

    When I have introduced BTA into a brand new system they often split within a couple weeks, this I am guessing is an attempt at self preservation. Parameters were never out of line severely but the tanks were definitely not established or stable.


    I have had them split in a completely stable tank as well.

    To me this topic is similar to why do some BTA's have bubble tips and other BTA do not. It just speculation based on each hobbyist individual experience. There is no scientific research to back it up.

    Cloning via cutting has come a long ways in the past couple years. If someone is serious and has the skill and does the research this method can be very successful.
