Why can't coralline algae be bottled and sold? We could buy base rock and seed it out of the bottle. Just another way to save the reefs.

I know it needs light to survive, but couldn't it be done and a quick basis?

What do you think? Could you sell coralline algae on ebay? Take your existing tank, scrape some algae, put it in a bottle, and ship overnight?

We could save a lot of new reefers the trouble of buying live rock and all the crap that comes with it..... no more curing, no more die off. Just plain cheap base rock which could be seeded by the aglae in a bottle.
