Why have vendors backed out?

 

"According to our limited and completely unprofessional legal understanding of the Nexus law in Texas, retailers who make an appearance physically in Texas may be held liable for sales tax for goods shipped to Texas for past sales."

lol. never heard that one before. That sounds made up. Did anyone find an example where Texas went back and charged taxes on past sales due to someone setting up a booth?

 

According to a friend of mine it was because Amazon.com used to have a distribution center in Texas where they weren't paying taxes on sales. This was the whole reason the law cam about.

The law wasnt for vendors making a couple thousand in a weekend at a coral swap, it was for big corporations that were making tens of thousands of tax free dollars a day.

The head guy at MACNA told my friend its nothing to worry about.

Never mind.. bad news has ensued and I'm going to just stare at my passes pass me by
