I want to buy an ATO for my jbj 30gal. I was looking into the jbj ATO, but it seems I have to buy a few more items to get it running, or am I wrong.

I want to buy an ATO that I can setup with little fuss. I want to have the reservoir in my stand and plug and play. Will the jbj ATO do this? If no, what else is needed for the jbj ATO? is there a recommended ATO?

the jbj is what i have for mine yes you need the pump but you can buy something like a Aqua Lifter Vacuum Pump - Bulk Reef Supply its not to expensive, and it slow enough that if a switch gets stuck you have a chance to stop it.

I got the Tunze Osmolator. Plug and play out of the box and the primary sensor is an optical sensor less prone to error over a float switch.

my jbj ato broke after 1 year. I suggest spending a bit more and getting a quality product.

I just put a jbj ato on my tank. I think it's great. Did have to buy a aqualifter though. My tank loses about 2 1/2 gallons a day. I fill a 5 gallon bucket ever other day. If this one ever goes bad ill look into the tunze.
