With my new 55 I have not run carbon but I think I'm going to start again. I just put it here in my sump so the water leaving my skimmer it hitting it as well as the rest of the water. Is this a good spot or should I put it in the back of my overflow box? or any other suggestions?

Seems like a good spot. Also that tray at the top of the bioball chamber where the water first comes in would be good. You want as much water hitting it and passing through it as possible.

That's a decent spot. Anywhere with really high flow is a good spot.
