My LFS has a clam about 3 feet across, weighs 300 (or was it 700) pounds I think, but never selling. Large clams take much longer to grow out and most growers do not want to take the time for diminishing returns. Best way is go to a good LFS and have them contact their special "cherry pickers" and try to locate large clams. Won't be cheap for a nice one. But don't know until you try.
    Cheers

Ive found that clams in the 4"-9" range are the easiest to sell. If they are bigger its harder cause most ppls tanks cant support one of that size.
