    Good advice so far, the real key is testing to determine what you need and where you at. You'll notice you will test a lot in the beginning, then back off as time goes on and you get a hang of it.

    how about iodine, iodide, potassium, molybdenum, stronium, iron manganese, and all these other chemicals? or is it jut a gimmick

    IMO you don't need to test or dose these. Just do regular water changes to replenish these.
