Most stores carry it so I would call around and see who does. Make sure you check expiration dates before purchasing!

DT is in the fridge, not on the shelf at the LFS - if that helps.

I use DT (only one i've ever used, so no comparison). I use it for my two feathers and maybe my gorgonian likes it (?).

    It does smell like $h!te.

Everything seems to be doing really well - so I assume the DT is good stuff.

    For what that is worth...

+1 on the DT's...my LFS carries it and it was reasonably priced depending on the size of bottle you purchase

I stopped using DT after my clam kept rejecting it. Besides that, it smells like rotten @ss! I have since switched to live phyto, both duniella and nannochloropsis. If they are pure cultures, they will not stink and will not spoil as fast as DTs. DTs smells bad because it is a mixture of different breeds of phyto and the smell is phyto death; ammonia at its worst. My clam has yet to spit out the stuff I bought. I get it from a LFS, they also sell it online:

noob perspective with a healthy dose of common sense:

I've had both a good and bad bottle of DT's now...

    Old stock DT's stinks.

Fresh DT's smells like green sea water.

If it smells dead and rotten, guess what?

Check the expiration date, and don't buy the huge bottles just because they cost less per Oz, they're for larger tanks, not longer shelf life. The stuff will expire, even in a fridge, pure and simple.

Seconded. I made the mistake of buying a big bottle the first time. It didn't stink until I had it for a while and by the time there was more air than liquid in the bottle, the smell was horrible.

Even flake food should be bought smaller so that you use it up while it's still valuable.
