What watt soldering iron is the best for soldering LEDs? I have a Weller 25W. Is that enough?

I havent soldered in a while but you dont wanna burn out anything with the heat so 25w is prob good.. im sure someone else will chime in

25 watts should be perfect. I think when it comes to electronics/circuit board stuff, 40 is the max you want to go, don't quite remember though. I use a 25 watt iron for my electronics soldering.

A 25W Weller soldering iron is okay but optimal would be about 40W. Since you already have it, give it a go.

The key is really to keep the solder tip clean. Good luck!

I used a 40w and they are cheap to pick up. But the 25w you already have should work fine. You'll know very quick if you need more watts, just don't frustrate yourself if it's not working with the 25w, a 40w is only $15 or so lol.

I would use a higher watt soldering iron. The longer you have to wait the longer the project takes. Also the longer the heat is near the led which could fry it. I bought a butane soldering iron for mine and it works better then any other I have used. It heat up in less then 30 seconds. You just have to fill it and you arent restricted by cords. if its full it lasts about 45 min to an hour. This is the exact one I got Amazon.com: Weller P2C Butane Soldering Iron: Home Improvement

I spent 4.59 on a 30 Watt and it works fine for small projects...
