What type of clam can I keep???? If any??

    My pleasure. I suggest that if you try a clam that you follow wildreef's advice and try one of the less light demanding clams.

    Ok, I just want a good shot at keeping it... For my checkbook and the clams sake..... If you know what I mean....LOL!!!

    We must be posting at the same time :) I think you should have enough blue actinic. Just keep the clam way up high in the tank as close to the lights as possible.

    Good advice.

    And I might add, one the the ones that is slow growing and stays relatively small like a crocea (Tridacna crocea).


    Good luck with whatever you choose.

    Got me thinking about small one for my nano. But have nowhere near enough light.

    Might be worth try regardless...:)

    I've always wanted one but haven't had a snowballs chance in he-- at even having close to the amount of light needed... or spectrum.....

    hmmm made me think about etting one to keep nitrates down for good.thanks for giving him the advice ill take it too.lol

    Just to clarify what has been posted about nitrates, clams will not keep your nitrates level down. They do consume them a little bit but not enough to solve a high nitrate problem :)
