So I have decided to order two more Hanna testers to add to my collection.

I currently have the Phosphate tester and love it!

Here are my options (Pick Two):
    Calcium
    Alkalinity
    Nitrite
    Phosphorus
    Iodine

My thoughts are to get Calcium & Alkalinity but I want to make sure before I place my order.

    Thanks guys!

Those two are your best. The nitrite you'd only test for when cyclling. I have a seachem kit for iodine. I don't dose it but use it to check levels every once in a while.

Thanks! I already have the Phosphate test, thats why I am purchasing more Hanna checkers. They are fool proof and very accurate.

Only the ALK imo. The Ca is kinda handy, but it's very sensitive to any error in your measurement of the RO/DI quantity it requires for every test. Supposidly Hanna is revising the tester now.

For the time being, it's Salifert kits for me. I even use the Salifert Alk. The Hanna might be a bit easier, but the cost/test is higher. Gabby had a nice spreadsheet breakdown on this a while back.

    Thanks!

I'll hold off placing my order until the new Ca kit comes out. I wish they made a Mag tester.

I hate testing for Mag and CA, ALK is pretty easy with Red Sea. I just want a faster more accurate test result.

I just emailed Hanna asking about a possible ETA on a Mag and the updated Calcium checker.

I'll post an update when they reply.

I'll just place an order for an ALK this week, thanks for the help guys.

They said the mag was coming out last year so I would like to hear an updated eta on it.

i find the hanna alk to be a waste of money. my api 5 dollar kit readings are the same and a lot easier to use and read. i really feel these hanna test kits are way over priced and a bit of a pain to use. i also have the phosphate kit but can't compare since i don't have another kit to compare it to
