what species of brain is this?

    He must like his space then. Not much of anything around him, not in reach anyways.

    I am having a heck of a time trying to target feed this guy. My cleaner shrimp pulls everything he grabs away from him immediately. I have to swat at the shrimp, which is a pain and probably stressful for him.

    hahaha gotta love shrimp. feed on other end of tank first to get shrimps attention. then when he is busy. shoot the coral some food. or you can try the method of putting a container over him with some holes for water flow. and just shoot the food inside.

    Thanks. It grew under the radar; very unsuspecting.

    It was smaller than a frag disk (you can see the edge of the disk) and about an inch tall to the size of a small fist.

    Very nice but that's not Favia.It's a Maze Brain coral Platygyra sp.;)
    Excellent growth.8)
    They have LONG sweepers.
