From the looks of it, I could probably just add a bulb and it should work, but would 400 watts be to much for a 22" deep tank. If so then you want to buy a 400 watt ballast and hood. lol

Honestly I would do the 60" T5s, less heat issue and less watts consumed... Couldn't you try to sell all your old equipment to raise funds for the new set up?

I was going to sell the 400w matal halide set up if I went with the 60's.
So will 8-60" t-5's give me enough light for clams and sps?

This is what I am planing for the T-5 retro if i go with the 60's

    4- Fulham workhorse 7 ballast
    8- Tek 2 60" reflectors w/clips
8- Icecap water proof end caps
    8- 60" t-5 bulbs
    Total: $765 out the door

    What do you guys think?

Looks like a plan... Where are you ordering it? I only ask as its weird you are using IC endcaps but Tek SLRs, why not use the Tek endcaps? They are all the same. Oh and you are missing stand offs.

And yes it is plenty of light for clams and SPS, without a question.

So far, DIYreef has the best price. But I am still shopping around. I ment to put the stand offs down but forgot. I want to use the tek reflectors because they are wider and the IC endcaps are the only waterproof endcaps DIYReef sells. I have the same reflectors and endcaps on my 36" set up. If you know of anywhere I can get a better deal, then I am all ears.
