I found about 5 of these small star fish in the back of one of my coral combo rocks and I am trying to figure out what kind these are and if they are reef safe? They look pretty cool and blend in with the rock. Thanks for any help.

Asterina star fish. Some people say they eat coraline, others say they don't. They can populate very quickly and that bothers some people. I happen to love mine!

Asternia. Some are o.k. some will eat LPS but I can't remember how many legs = evil star. Someone will be able to tell you that I'm sure.;D

i might be backwards on it, but i believe the 6 legged ones are sometimes not totally reef safe. 5's are ok. even the coloration can make a difference. some think the whites are good, where the bluish\green can be a little unsafe.
