What is this taking over?

    The green thing(s) sticking up isn't a vermetid, it's a type of algae.
    If I run across the threads I saw IDing it elsewhere, I'll be back with the name of it, but don't count on it cuz it was on a huge site LOL.

    look like hydroids to me and a lot of them. sorry :(

    Neomeris annulata (spindle weed). It's not something I would really worry about.

    Yep Hydroids for sure, and theys a real B1tch to get rid of. I had them in the first tank I ever set up. They pretty much took over and I had to pull all the rock out of the tank and scrub them to get rid of them.

    After I spent many hours scrubbing with a brush I found out that hot water, really hot water kills them and they do not come back. You need a syringe or turkey baster with a small hole in it, squirt them with hot water it kills them and they just eventually go away.

    that is giant Aiptasia i got rid of them the other night its an on going battle

    Thanks Inwall, it's kinda hard to find threads on boards when all the questions are "what kind of algae is this" LOL. I'd have to look through a LOT of those to find it!

    Well hot water seems to work but it killed my zoas also gonna be hard to get to some of the rock
