A lot of fish won't eat much for the first few days to a week. No need to try and overfeed; they will eat when they are hungry and can go a week without eating. Better to maintain high water quality and stick to the only feed what can be eaten in 3 minutes rule. Now, treating for diseases is something totally different, so keep a very close eye out.

I have never been able to get those small gobbies to eat for that exact reason. I almost thing you have to set up a species tank for them.

Hope you have success with the little guy

So here's my plan, transfer fish to substrate less quarantine tank. Leave infected tank dry for weeks.

Treat q tank with ich medication or hyposalinity. Setup and cycle new display tank. Move fish over to to new display tank.

Good plan. I've used hyposalinity before on a blue hippo, very effective IMO. When you lower the salt, do it very gradually as to not harm your fish.

Yeah it's surprising to me that fish can take 1.0009 for weeks and be ok.

IIRC it is actually raising salinity that is the bigger concern vs. lowering it.

Is there any chance this is lymphocystis?

Looking at him again, does Marine Ick really poke out like that?

Am I a bad person because I have never really treated ich....I'm the old school person who believes ich goes away with good food and water quality. I have had many fish get it and it eventually clears up if the fish is getting nutrition and is stress free for the most part.
