Yea put food in yer' hand and put it next to the hole with that bad boy and close your hand LOL,
Who wants one now in their reef system ?...lol.
Now serving "crab cakes" to the mantis in table 4 , lol
Any way karma to ya Woop. sorry he croaked on ya though all that work and no trade in value on a dead one.
You know what... I'm just glad its out!!.. I feel bad that it died... but what are you gonna do! It was crazy before he was out.. It was looking at its reflection in the glass of my tank and just starting going from side to side attacking my glass...
I can say this.. Even with that critter out of my tank, I will never stick my hand in there the same way as I used to!! Def will take a good look no matter what!
OK, that was a cool thread. Thanks for the read. Good job w000p. John.
All hitchhiking mantis are fairly small. Most are fairly small even when full grown. O.s. (peacock mantis) are large and they are captured on purpose for the aquarium trade. You won't get one of those as a hitchhiker but that's what's on the video. I would never put my hand in a tank with a peacock that wasn't mine. Again, apples and oranges or Lions and kittens.
This picture shows most of the common hitchhikers and I don't have any problem whatsoever grabbing them with my hand nor should anyone else. Tomato clownfish bites hurt worse.
Can I say those all look like the things I put on the end of my fishing line?
OMG I was gonna say Bait! LOL they really do look like something you'd get at a Bass Pro Shop. still creepy to me! They look like Alien parasites that would come out of your ear or bellybutton
lol so true so true
