I Had this stuff it was mainly in the center of the tank on the sand
My sand sifter goby wouldn't go near it let alone touch it
    I upgraded my lights to 96W 10 000k bulb and a 96W actinic bulb
it has since spread to the rocks,
It forms a bunch of bubbles in the algae
Oh And i don't use tap water for top ups and such every this is filtered.
What is it and how do i get rid of it?

its a form of cyano bacteria comes from to many diatoms, not enough flow, and an imbalanced system. this stuff should help you:
    Boyd Enterprises Chemi-Clean

a good clean up crew, skimmer and a refugium would help also

Looks like you just got through a cycle. How long has the tank been set-up?

In that case, reef-guru is right. More flow. Before you start the new tank, see if by adding more flow it goes away. If it does, then move old to new. Also, when you do water changes, are you cleaning the sand?

the spores are in the water, on the rock, and in the sand. the only way to rid of it is boyd. you can use the water to use in the other tank. prior to switching tanks use the boyd on this tank until the stuffs gone. do a couple water changes then transfer everything over.
