I just bought a HOB Refugium from CPR Aquafuge, the medium one. I will put a DSB in there and I am going to add macro algae to the fuge to help with Nitrate removal. What is the best algae to add to the fuge? I was thinking of going with a golf ball size of Chaetao and about 5 red mangroves. Does anyone have any opinions on this matter? Are these good choices for my algae? I understand that the Chaetao will sink and just sit on the sand at the bottom of the fuge, and I will have to plant the mangroves. I am also planning on seeding the refugium with a pack of reef pods from reef cleeners.

Does Cheato need to be lit for 24 hours? I heard the Mangroves should have some night time in the fuge. Does the same go for Cheato?

i think some ppl keep the lights on 24/7 to keep the cheato from going asexual. i havnt yet used cheato yet but i know they do a great job in low flow. my groves do well on reverse-ish lighting (on 18 hrs.) and i think it helps keep pH stable.
