Sad to report that the H202 did not stop the fungus/bacteria from spreading. By this morning his gills were covered in the white 'fuzz'. I decided to euthanize him with clove oil and alcohol because he was really struggling and gasping. RIP, big guy. I'll probably pick up another male next week before my female decides to change sex.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Could it have been Brookynella, I only say that because it spread so quickly. Have you added any new fish?

    Sorry for your loss.

I don't think it was Brook. I did a little investigating after the fish was dead , and there was a wound underneath the white fuzz. I'm thinking that wound was most likely infected by fungi or some type of bacteria. All other fish are healthy.

that sucks, sorry to hear that man, I have a flame angel of my own, the most beautiful fish in my tank and I don't know what I'd do if lost him

and to have a mated pair wow that is an accomplishment to be proud of

hopefully everyone else in the tank remains healthy and you can get another male before the female realizes she's alone lol

I picked up a 3 1/2 inch male at my LFS yesterday, and they are already showing signs of courtship (male following and nudging the females abdomen). No spawn yet, but that will come soon. Honestly, I've never understood why some people say you can absolutely not have two centropyge in one tank. If you do your research on sexual dimorphism, and you are sure that you have one male and one female, they are very easy to pair. That has been my experience, anyway.
