    I've have some in my tank a couple of years now and they never seem to spread, they also never get much larger than 1 cm, the exposed ones (not in a hole) have all since been eaten.

    Thanks to everyone for the responses and to amcarrig for the ID assistance. +1 for the great link too. I started reading it over and will finish it tonight. Pretty neat find in my tank, and glad my daughter found it and pointed it out.
