I bought this live rock a couple of weeks ago from a guy i know and I left it dry for a few days after it had been out of his tank for a week!. I have noticed that there are these tentacle looking things coming out of the LR. *** is that and will that hurt my corals???

A pic may help. I dipped a few frags that I had glued to some of my liverock rubble and I was blown away by all the weird things that came off of 4 or 5 little pieces that had been in my tank for a long time.

I wish I could take a picture but the camera on my tablet sucks big time. I'll try to describe them. They look to be Brown or black in color. Very skinny with short arms or feelers running down both sides of the tentacles. I can only see about an inch of it. I hope this helps you help me lol

Good possibility could be star fish tentacles you are seeing. Even after setting the rick out, they could have tucked into a hole which still held water, but like said earlier, pics are a must for a positive ID.

Thanks for the link! . The"arms" or tenticles most resemble the ophiocoma erinaceus star fish But I don't see anything out and about.

I see it mostly when its feeding time. Maybe it smells the food. Does that sound consistent with that star?
