Moved an Acan to a shadier spot, hopefully it will take to this spot since it hasn't taken to any of the previous. Also put my newest zoa frags in their homes and moved my sps frags up a couple inches in my tank.

Received my Hanna Alk checker today and tried it out. It looks to be pretty close to what my salifert is giving me. I am sure it will take a few testings to get used to and start getting consistent readings. They were close enough that I am betting the actual level is somewhere between the 2 in the +/- range of each.

I'm down again from having Photodynamic Therapy (Blue Light) done to my face to remove the remaining skin cancer and finally got around to making a door for the front of my stand instead of the piece of plywood I had in there. It only took me the better part of a year to start on it and took me 30 minutes to complete. I used more fence slats and the hook that keeps it in place is the latch that came off the fence door I took the slats from. Regular Mcguyver over here!

Recently I fragged up/cut up my Blue Milli that has been receding/losing color/tissue.
Many of the fragged pieces are also bleaching/losing tissue.

I also picked out a bunch of hair algae that was in several places in my DT today during a 25gWC.

Well Hello, Yep, digging this one up.....

Recently I"ve DIY'd an ATS (Algae Turf Scrubber); which either my tank is having a good cycle lately, or it's working!

I also drained my FT, cleaned it out pretty well and put back online in my system.
Although there is no substrate, it had think detritus down there, a few majanos, and a few red planaria.
    Everything is clean now.

** Also, at my recent monthly Wi Reef Society Meeting- we had a params testing clinic,
and compared many peoples tests- on the same water.
We also used several of those digital refractometers- calibrated them, -
    then checked out calibration fluid.
My calibration flouid was off according to the digital meters. 35=37.
So I brought my system down to what I think is 35- now I"m wondering which one to actually trust. So my fluid was 37- so I calibrated my refractometer to 37.
Drained some water from the system- and added the ATO- It's now at the
    NEW 35.

I'm going to keep looking into this however.

Why buy calibration fluid when it's not even right on- to calbrate the refrac. with?

    Headaches

Well, trying to control a gold algae bloom(cyano suspected) the last few days i have:

    Cleaned out filter
    Changed media
    Removed a fish(lower bioload)
    Vacuumed sand bed
Changed powerhead angle which made better flow(still deciding on adding another ph)
    Cut lighting time to 8hrs

    Doing research

Looks like everyone is always busy with their tanks.

Hello again, I always knida liked this thread- sorta like a blog

Today on the Thankgiving morning, I:
    - cleaned my beasty skimmer
    - cleaned one screen of my Algae Turf Scrubber
    - Tested the Big 3- tweaking my dosing pump
    Alk- 9
    Mg- 1400
    Ca- 420
Left the dosing pump setting be for now- happy with those numbers
    - readjusted one of my direction flow powerheads in my sump, whick aims the flow/keeps bubbles the ATS from going into the Return pump- then to the DT
    - replaced my softball sized pink stylo that had fallen over in the DT
    -... All before 0830

    Happy Turkey Day!
