Real simple went to St. John USVI and went snorkeling. What I saw under the water I wanted in my living room. Not any one fish or any one coral. I wanted it all!!! Still working on it but I am closer today then I was yesterday.

I really like the Eibl's Angelfish, Marine Betta, and Sea Dragons. And the Brain corals and branching sps are my favorite! I also must admit that Finding Nemo (especially the big reef scene in the beginning) had quite an influence, but I have wanted a reef tank since I was a little kid.

Yup the Steinhart was part of what hooked me. Then when my brother and I started playing D&D we'd go to a cousins house to play and he had a SW tank with a lion fish in it...that cinched it I wanted a SW tank. Plus I've always had a love of the ocean and it's critters.
When I was in my twenties I wanted a SW tank but the seeming complexity and the cost was prohibitive so I settled on FW for years.
Got the bug again so looked into SW via the net and found 3reef and the rest is history.

cost and complexity kept me from thinking seriously about it for years too... now that I took the first step it's like my own version of crack! LOL
