So my dream fish is a porcupine puffer. There's three fish I'm worried about it eating, a ocellaris clown fish, a royal gramma and to a lower extent a sattle back clown. I've had the gramma and the ocellaris for about 4 years now and I got them fully grown. Of course I would get the puffer as a baby but will it eat them fully grown? Also how can you tell when I fish is close to the end of its life?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Clowns can live for decades, I am not sure about Grammas.

Puffers are messy messy fish and need larger tanks.

I only had trouble with them picking on other fish when they got significantly larger. Swimming after other fish is not their best maneuver, they are clumsy.

What size tank do you have? As Cheryl noted, they need large tanks, Porcupines especially. I believe a 180 is minimum for a full grown adult as they get up to/over 1' long.

FWIW, I kept a "porkie" for about 6 years, and it was a super great fish...it didn't die of natural causes tho (death by divorce).

I've had mine for about 2 years and he's in a 180g at about 6-7 inches. He was 3 inches when I got him. They grow fast. They typically won't pick on other fish. Mine won't even touch silversides, but he does get very exited at feeding time.
