BTW, all these aragonite powder mixed in water type products are ineffective as Calcium supplements and contain little usable ionic Calcium.

If you are simply interested in raising ionic Calcium levels use a commercial or DIY product based on Calcium Chloride.

I am just starting with LPS and am very interested in some more challenging corals which will require some dosing schedule. I have subscribed and look forward to your findings.;)

To the top, I might have to set up an experiment and see what I can come up with...it'll be nice to see how big of a difference it makes in each tank...also I would add seachem's reef fusion1 and reef fusion2...that's what I've been dosing for a while and have had pretty good results...JMO

Probably every few days to see which products are "slower" working than the others

Thanks for all the positive feedback

Im not going to be using any of the products I am tested for any other purpose than -

to show potential users of these products, what they do exactly
and what could happen from prolonged use, without reference to a test kit

I will not be testing between set up and 2 weeks ( as if I did , I might be tempted to deviate from the instructions on the packaging)

so I will set up tank
    test the water
make additions based on the basic guidelines (rather than use the advanced work out a daily dose required)
and in 2 weeks time find out was has occured with the big 3 by following those instructions

tank set up this morning using water from reef tank - (it would have been discarded so I put it to some use)

    SG - 1.025
    Calcium - 440ppm
    DKH - 8.6
    Mag - 1440

test product 1 Aragamilk (excuse the chunky 3 reefer reflection)

2 weeks today - I will post the big 3 levels using the basic guideline of 1 drop per 2 gallons per day - I have 5 gallons of water - so will add 2 drops days 2,4,6,8,10,12 and 14
and add 3 drops on days 1,3,5,7,9,11 and 13

which equates to the 1 drop per 2 gallons in a 5 gallon tank

He's testing Calcium, Alkalinity, and Magnesium supplements. Selcon is vitamins and HUFA's that is added to fish food. (FWIW, even though his tests aren't about Selcon, it's very important to supplement fish foods in this manner)
