What do people keep in their refugiums?

    Basically, yes. I don't do anything special to grow it, but I certainly don't mind it growing. It's a great nutrient exporter.

    It ends up there from the air. Cyano is everywhere; you can't really stop it. However, I don't have any in the DT. It established itself in the fuge portion of the sump, and that's just fine with me. It has the right light spectrum to thrive there. I let it grow and manually export it when it peels off. It's effective nutrient removal, yes. Any macro works the same way, and you really haven't removed those nutrients for good until you trim and remove the macro growth.

    I am starting a refugium close to my dsb tank and i want to put only rocks.
    Is it a good idea or it is better put algas too?
