You will want to raise the calcium to at least 400. You could also raise your Alk. up to around 9. Testing the Magnesium is key to keeping these numbers stable so you may want to consider getting another kit if the one you have is not working properly.

 

Thanks! So i guess i should just use the "Reef Code A and B" for now? And also do you know of any easy mag test kit?

 

I have the red sea mag test too - it's pretty lengthy. Are you sure you're doing it correctly or do you need some help with it?

 

I have done it exactly as it said! Even tested it three times and the same thing showed up! Maybe i have a default kit!

 

very possible lol. just thought i'd ask. make sure you're doing it a drop at a time b/c if you miss the blue it will go back to pink.

See mine was pink when i started which was exactly on line with the kit. But then when it said add .4 of solution "C" and then add drop by drop, the color started purple and ended purple even after using the whole little small syringe. I will go check out that video now! Thanks!

 

Wow! Thanks for that link! I have a different looking test kit so i think i will go and try to find that one! That one looks really easy!
