I have a 25g tank and will soon be turning it into saltwater, because my tank just crashed and left nothing (reason unknown).

the tank is 15" deep and i have a Hagen Glo 24" T5HO 2X24W fixture on there now.

what kind of corals are within my reach? i really only have hagen bulbs readily available around here, but if there's a better knid of bulb online somewhere i'd love to know about it!!

and yes i'll ask this most over used question there is:

what combination would you suggest? i like the blue tint look?

Mushroom, zoas, any coral that requires low light.

Is there some sort of database or website where we can find bulb information, or does one have to search the vendor website?

I would change out the hagens for another brand depending on what you want to spend.

ATI and Geisemann are highly recommended. UVL is good too, but unless your fixture is VHO, the bulbs shift to a pinker color.

You could keep LPS under that light also. +1 on ATI, Geisemann and UVL bulbs. KZ and Ice Cap are also good. Get one blue and one daylight bulb. If you go only softies then the blue can be pure actinic.

SO pure actinic for softies only and if i plan on going outside the world of softies? what would you suggest?

So there are 3 "actinic" to choose from: (Giesemann)

    AquaBlue + = 60% Actinic 40% combination (15000K)
Pure Actinic = peaks at 421 nm
    Actinic + = peaks at 450nm (22000K)

So which one is the best?
