    Here you go Froc. I used a 3" to 2" reducer
    for my application. I drilled 3/4" holes and
    then cut the slots. Working great.

    Ya, seen it being used by the LFS's up here.
    The method is pretty common but the drilled
    holes added to the slot idea is something new.
    I run with a 950 GPH Mag pump. With the 3/4"
    holes the water level in the reducer is just
    bellow the slots. I have put my older mod
    reducer on top of the working one and this
    has cut down on the noise level.(Gulp and such).
    Probably will help with fish problem like Froc has.
    Hopefully it will not get an air lock like last time
    with this mod. Looks kinda funky in the tank as well.:victory:

    Oh, BTW, using this method of return seems to create
    another form of skimming in my first cavity of the sump.
    Air bubbles created from fall of water down pipe.
    Cleaning the filter material often but water quality and
    clarity are really coming along. Sump/refugium only way to go!
    Just an added benefit I guess.

    Thanks a lot! I am definately going to try this before i drop the water level in my tank down so i can build a box in the corner.. thanks for the idea!
