I was thinking about getting into LEDs and could make a good christmas present ;D. what are some pretty good LED fixtures/retrofit kits/DIY etc that are pretty good quality but not too expensive.....i want to keep it <$500 and I dont mind getting used equipment. Ill probably be keeping mostly soft corals and some lps and maybe some sps even. The tank is a 55 standard. so hit me with what you got on ideas

The AI Sol fitures are $399.00 each. But youll probably want the controller and hanging kit which brings it closer but not over your $500 target. Theres lots of information on this site and You Tube has a bunch of videos with peole using theres.

You would probably get the best coverage for the money with a DIY kit. Since a standard 55 is only 12 inches deep, you can probably do a 36 led kit from rapidLED with a couple 18 inch heat sinks and get good coverage.
