okay so it's 4:40 am. and I cannot sleep for the clown fish has been acting strange and it has worried me
it's acting pretty erractilly... and not in it's usuall spot
he isn't gasping too much... if any.
but now he is sitting on the floor... well not sitting still swimming but very close to the bottom....

could this be him being tired and exhausted, or could this be something worse?!

I've now changed the direction of the powerhead. and he is still acting weird, there are no physical signs of any disease or trauma, colour is fine. just this behavior and a little bit of gasping...

How long has this been going on? Just in the middle of the night or all day?

    Test for ammonia and nitrite.
Don't disturb him in the middle of the night while he's sleeping.

hes probably sleeping, usually they just hang out at the bottom and wont even swim away if you put your hand near them.

I have a pair of black and white ones. They sleep on the bottom. Both right up against each other. Their bodies slow down a lot. Their is barely any movement from them. During the day, clowns as usual. I attached a pic (not the greatest, it was night and I didn't want to use a flash) but you get the idea.
    I think your okay.

hmm my ocellaris would usually just swim around the surface of the tank at night, and sometimes he'd sleep near my filter intake. I think you needn't worry
