It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I alternate between I/O and RC. I would like to try others but can not justify the cost when I really both products by Instant Ocean, and they do a great job.

Hmm, how do you keep the RO/DI water's buffered? I know a LFS that no longer uses it or sells it because it's hard to buff. I use RO, and it's still around 6 for KH. A few weeks back I went to my old house that as heavy lime well water. For 2 week I used that water for top offs and WC, that's the same water I used for my nano that thrived for years. There was a very noticeable difference. Coral line growing everywhere. Guess I just need to add buffer every morning with RO water...maybe I should look into making my own buffer...

I top off with kalk water and use ESV 2 part. Kalk can be a little tricky to get dialed in, you run the risk of big pH swings. Top off for me is 1/8 gallon per days so it's easier to control. You would probably have to dial down/dilute the kalk with larger a larger volume of water. 2 tablespoons per gallon is what I use. Kalk grows the coralline.
