Want to make AC 70 into fuge, do i need mod?

Hey guys,

I want to get an AC 70 and make it into a fuge. I just got an ac 20 for my FW and after setting it up, I started thinking about how the mod worked. I realized I actually don't need to really do anything, I could just take the chaeto and stuff it in the filter box..am I correct in this? I'm not much of a DIYer so easier is better with me.

Whoops sry I'm either doing 2 AC 50s or one AC 70

 

the chaeto will have small pices that will flow into the display, that is why you need to glue or silicone the screen so it can flow out.

So what's better:

1 AC 50 as a filter, one as a fuge
2 AC 50s as fuges
1 AC 70 fuge
I have an eheim 2213 but was hoping to get rid of it...I don't really like the canister filter. If I got rid of it, I'd probably go with option 1.

 

The only thing you really need to do is to add some screen where the outlet is to prevent chaeto from going into the DT and adding a light source to it. The chaeto is basically just media for the filter.

I'd go with a 70fuge and a 70filter if I could =]

 

I'll check the dimensions again but the reason I can't have 2 AC 110s is cuz the pre cut hole on the back is only 14 inches long

 

Oh, is it an acrylic tank? That's what I've always hated about the acrylic..the precut holes. Yeah a AC50 as a fuge and a AC50 running a sponge and some GFO or chemipure elite sounds like a good idea.
